My wife purchased this Ryobi 1250W Circular Saw for me as an anniversary gift and it has proven to be a good saw with solid performance. However, there is one huge drawback that should be mentioned right away – this saw runs on 110v, meaning that you are going to need to order a transformer if you don’t have one on hand. My wife did not realize this when she purchased the saw, but I do keep a couple of transformers around, so it has worked out fine for me. Aside from this obvious downfall, there are several features on the Ryobi 1250W that I find very helpful. These include the two LED lights that let you see what you are cutting, the blue indicator light letting you know the saw is plugged in, the very handy laser cutting guide and the overall comfort of the grip. The need to purchase a transformer knocks this one down to 3 stars for me, but I recommend it if you can get past that drawback.
